6 Siskin were seen in trees near the Green Bridge in Area 10 by John McGoven.

At Lavells Lake in Area 10 seen by Nick Kightley were 5+ Redwing , 2 Chiffchaff , 2 calling Cetti’s Warbler and a
Fieldfare in a hedge near the Landfill .

During the clearing of the nest boxes in Area 7 several Ring necked Parakeet flew over calling.Also heard was a Great spotted Woodpecker .

A female Kestrel was on telegraph wire, and hunting in Ashridge Meadows Ashridge Meadows. A male and female Stonechat were seen at the
Eastern pond and adjacent weedy field at Ashridge Meadows . Sightings by Paul O'Neill.

In Area 10 a Kingfisher flew into a fallen tree near the Green Bridge .3 Siskin were seen in a small Tit Flock and
5000+ Starling were circling above the main Lavells Lake reed bed with a female Sparrowhawk checking the roosting Starling flock. All sightings by Michael Hubbard.

Over the Woosehill roundabout in Area 5 at dusk 16 Canada Goose . In Area 10 at the
Lavell’s Lake Car Park Field- 7 Little Egret flew over in one’s and two’s, 60 Fieldfare were over in three groups heading south east.
7000+ Woodpigeon were moving South in significant migration groups of 100 to 800
17 Lesser Black-backed Gull were also heading south with7 font color=#FFOOOO> Linnet heading South East seen by Fraser Cottington.

Over the Woosehill roundabout in Area 5 at dusk 16 Canada Goose were seen heading towards Windmill pond presumabely to roost.

At 07:10 a Cormorrant was heading East over Area 4. At the car park field in Area 10 a Pink-footed Goose flew over with Greylag Goose
and Canada Goose heading towards Lea Farm seen by Tim James. A Grey Wagtail was seen on the roadside verge in Area 7A at Eamer Crescent by Paul O'Neill.

A female Tawny Owl was calling loudly from a neighbours tree in Area 4. A Coal Tit and a Goldcrest were part of a
mixed "Tit flock" that flew through Paul Bright Thomas's Area 4 garden

In Area 10 at the Wet Meadow, several Dragonflies ,probably Common or Ruddy Darters were seen by Alan Rymer. There were even a pair egg laying .

The moth trap was out at dusk on 10/11/23 in my Area 4 garden and was emptied this morning . Once again just 2 moths of 2 species caught.
They were Mottled Umber Erannis defoliaria a first for the year and November Moth agg Epirrita dilutata agg .
With 1 new moth added to the FOTEB Moth list for the year , the total for 2023 is now 243 species.Following inspection and recording/photographing anything caught was released.

With the recent spell of wet weather the moth trap hasn't been out in my Area 4 garden , however attracted to an outside light were 2 moths of 2 species .
They were Red-green Carpet Chloroclysta siterata and The Chestnut Epirrita dilutata agg .
With no new moth added to the FOTEB Moth list for the year , the total for 2023 remains at 242 species.Following inspection and recording/photographing anything caught was released.

During todays litter pick along the Spine road in Area 5 Common Puffball Lycoperdon perlatum were seen in good numbers.

Poking through the roadside verge in Area 4 were Field Mushroom Agaricus campestris .
Do not eat any fungi that have not been properly identified , some are DEADLY when ingested .

Seen in the early hours of the morning in Area 4 was a Red Fox Vulpes vulpes trotting across the Spine Road.
